Dream Watches
These are watches that are beyond my means and/or are rare and difficult to find. They include both vintage and new watches. Maybe one day I will put together some money and get one of these. Or, like with my Sports 200 I will get lucky and find one I can afford. Either way, these are beautiful watches and worthy of some time and space. I so stole every one of these pics.
Heuer Monaco
This is the watch popularized by Steve McQueen in the movie Bullett. Ive never seen the movie, but the first time I saw this watch I fell in love. I believe Tag is selling reproductions of the original. So you can get one new. This may be the only Tag I would ever allow on my wrist.
Seiko Credor Pacifique
This is the top of the line. When Seiko wants to make a watch to compete with the big guys, they make a credor. Check out the shape of the case, the beautiful dial and especially the hands. Oh my what a beauty!
Speedmasters
New vs. old/Affordable vs. out of reach. Vintage Omega Speedmaster’s have always been some of the coolest around. I can picture James Bond with one of these on his wrist. It has a classic look to it that cant be beat. Japanese watch makers are famous for making their own version of famous and popular Swiss watches. Citizen has a a model that looks a lot like the Speedmaster and is very affordable.
Seiko Pressmatic
Every time I come across one of these for sale, I am either out of money or its too expensive. Either way this is one of those watches that has an aura about it. It begs me to own it. Yes, vintage watches are near and dear to my heart.
Seikomatic-R
Yes, I already own one Sealion. Well, you can’t have enough. This is one of the best of the Sealion’s. It’s one that collectors see and get that knowing look in their eye. One day … one day.
Seiko Chronos
I found this picture while I was on a Japanese vintage site. By the time I found it, the watch was already sold. I have never seen one of these and to me it is a holy grail watch. I fall in love everytime I look at that beautiful black face and clean old guy watch looks. If its as old as I think its probably pretty small.
Limes
These watches are German made. Im not sure why I love them so much. It may be that its different, off the radar when it comes to collectors. This company makes its own cases and fits them with ETA movements. I believe they are only sold over the internet. I once got to handle one of these when I spotted someone in a local movie arthouse wearing one. The owner was surprised that I knew about his watch. He was nice enough to let me handle it. I complemented him on his taste, impressed he didnt just buy a Sub.
Seiko R-SUS
This is a fairly rare watch that was sold for about 5 years in Japan only. I have wanted one for a long time and recently I made a lame attempt to acquire one. Then I realized that they go for between $400 and $500. Although this is a dream watch, for that kind of money I would probably buy a different watch. Thanks to Michael Rothe for the pic and the opportunity to purchase one. Check the links on the main watch page for more pics.
