Articles

On this page I’ve gathered some of my favorite articles, forum posts and links that dont fit elsewhere. I find myself re-reading these items every so often. Very good, in depth information to be found there. Its not all Seiko and Citizen stuff, so take a look.

Grand Seiko

In this article SteveG talks about an extremely beautiful handwind GS. The pictures will take your breath away. He collects high end watches of all kinds. Below find a link to his big review site. I want to be SteveG when I grow up, of coarse I would have to make a LOT more money.

Wayne Lee

Wayne is a watch collector and professor of entomology in Malaysia. He has a website where he sells watches and is the benefactor of the Seiko/Citizen Enthusiast Forum. Beyond that he is a great guy. In this article he talks about “the eight most precious watches I owned”. Very nice article and pictures. Check the side links for his store.

Carlos Perez

These are links to Carlos’ incredibly detailed and researched articles. In the first he talks about the history of japan in terms of timekeeping. In the second he talks about the history of Seiko as a watch maker. In the last part of the series he discusses “The interplay between Media, Market, and Brand”. Enjoy.

Heuer

Before there was a Tag-Heuer, there was Heuer. Maker of some great watches, chronographs especially. Here is an article that talks about them. But, be careful you just might find yourself on Ebay trying to buy one.

J Ian Ramsay

J Ian Ramsay reviews the Seiko Alpinist. This is a highly sought after watch. It is blessed with a great movement. It happens to be basically the same as my Sports 200 with a prettier name.

Forum posts

Here are some of my favorite Seiko/Citizen forum posts. The first is Randall “2manywatches” Benson talking about the incredibly beautiful 4s24 movement. The second is Ryan with a great article giving perspective on Seiko watch values.

R-SUS

Michael Rothe has a great site where he shows off his collection which inclues a great collection of R-SUS Seiko’s. A great deal of his collection is comprised of this one type of Seikos. I think he has more than are on his site. Huge Seiko fan, check him out.
