Nissan Cube coming 11/19/08

Looks like Nissan doesnt want to be left out of the new boxy wagon trend that Toyota started with the xB. Nissan will unveil the new US spec cube at the LA Auto show in a few weeks. Actually the Cube has been for sale in Japan as long as the Toyota bB. Lets overlook that it took Nissan 5 years to bring this Japanese micro-coolness stateside. Its actually very good timing as the new xB is not nearly as popular as the original. Seems people like the smaller size and better gas mileage!

I have to say I really like that the Cube has a rear door rather than a hatch and that the seats fold up and rather than down. Now the wrap around rear window is something that many people seem to have very strong feelings about. Im gonna guess that it moves to the opposite c-pillar to help eliminate blind spots since the car will now be left hand drive. Either way we will know soon. I suspect this will be a strong seller for Nissan, goodness knows that their Versa line is fuuuuuugly! Why do utilitarian, economical cars need to be ugly? Answer is they dont… case in point is the Honda Fit (which is getting sexier this year by the by).
